New research suggests that lithium depletion contributes to Alzheimer’s progression. In mice, very low doses of lithium orotate improved synaptic function and cleared toxic debris. If validated in humans, screening for lithium levels and micro-dose therapy could offer an ultra-low-cost intervention.
